Jack Roush Jr. To Race With Car Number 60 For The 2014 Season Of The Pirelli World Challenge Series

Livonia, Michigan – January 15, 2014 – The ROUSH Road Racing team has officially chosen and registered the car number 60 for the 2014 season of the Pirelli World Challenge Series.

“To keep continuity with our previous road racing efforts, we first tried to secure the number 61 for the 2014 season,” says Jack Roush Jr. “However, that number wasn’t available, but the number 60 was. This is also a number that we have a long history with. So, we took that instead.”

For those not familiar with Roush Fenway’s use of the number, Roush has a long and storied history running the 60 car number in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series. Roush’s championship results in the NNS series with the 60 number include the following:

  • 2002: 1st – Greg Biffle
  • 2004: 3rd – Greg Biffle
  • 2005: 3rd – Carl Edwards
  • 2006: 2nd – Carl Edwards
  • 2007: 1st – Carl Edwards
  • 2008: 2nd – Carl Edwards
  • 2009: 2nd – Carl Edwards
  • 2010: 2nd – Carl Edwards

All told, Roush has scored a total of 47 racing victories with the car number 60. “This is a part of our winning tradition that we are very proud of, and one that we take inspiration from as we enter this exciting new chapter with our road racing program.”

  1. The Pirelli World Challenge GTS class pits 5 liter Mustangs against 6.2 liter Camaros. Camaros always win. Why don’t you protest this inequity? Do you want Mustang to be an also-ran forever and to let GM continue to have an unfair advantage? Let’s see organized protests against the racing rules!
